HISTORY OF RACISM AND DOGMA LIBERAL

Elie Domota skids

It is still early to consider whether the good will of elected that we mentioned in our previous article [1] Victorin Lurel top will be enough to defuse the ultimatum set by the collective, and especially to change the blocking position in which is enmeshed in Guadeloupe since March 2009. If we can nevertheless welcomed the fact that politicians are close to the positions of the LKP, we must instead turn deplore the lamentable that have been taken recently with the state relations, particularly with his representative, the Prefect Jean Fabre. One wonders what got Elie Domota this Oct. 25, when the plateau of RFO, he accused it of being racist [2] .

Asked by presenter Laura Senné who sought to know what he was leaning to launch such serious charges, the spokesman LKP retorted that the prefect had stated that all issues were settled in Guadeloupe even though the group had already written three times and that he had personally met him twice asking him to meet the Monitoring Committee as required by protocol to end the conflict. Rather than accede to this request and any response, Elie Domota recalled that the prefect stated that the LKP looking just to start controversy with old stories. He therefore concluded on the antenna of RFO, the prefect was lying, then offer him a radio and televised debate. However much listen to his explanations, for they are based, it is not clear how they are constitutive of racism ... Worse, Domota recidivism few seconds later, saying that the warden is here that the only end "to break the negro."

is the second time, Elijah Domota skids so (the charge of incitement to racial hatred for his remarks against "a band békés "was more, for its part, the farce than anything else as demonstrated by an article in Dog Creole [3] ) and curiously, is taking over About the same, word for word. Indeed, it is already the same charge he had spoken to the predecessor Jean Fabre, the affable Nicolas Desforges, television negotiations that took place before the arrival of Yves Jego. Speaking of "breaking the negro," the conflict Domota is a racially, precisely on the ground that chose to occupy his detractors who would summarize the LKP to a movement of blacks against whites.

It's called ... Jean Fabre!

Why Use such a charge? Elie Domota Did he hope to generate communitarian reflex among viewers by playing on the emotional chord? It seems that if that was the goal, the maneuver has failed because the following day the prefect-cons attacking very intelligently, precisely on the ground chosen by his opponent, the emotional terrain. In a televised statement broadcast on the same newspaper RFO [4] with trembling voice and almost with tears in his eyes and he said how the man behind the function had been hurt by accusations of Elijah Domota, claiming his life had suffered racism (sic), recalling that his father had been tortured by the Nazis during the war, etc.. After this demonstration rather convincingly (and fair enough, no bad pun), he pulled himself together quickly, do not worry. Taking advantage of the emotion, he would seek to explain to Guadeloupe that is good for them, with some condescension: "the interests of Guadeloupe, is not to be permanently paralyzed by problems and strikes. " He therefore did not deny the problems but it is better for them Guadeloupeans not to overdo state. If you did not understand the interests of Guadeloupe, Jean Fabre explains: "the interests of Guadeloupe, is to restore its image is that investment returns, again, the economic development. "

Jean Fabre on RFO, (photo UGTG - Archive)

Guadeloupeans require recognition, social justice, endogenous development, etc.., M. Fabre gatecrash RFO to explain that they are wrong: what they need is the Market. It's true, finally, Guadeloupe, a little decency that devil! Be reasonable, the warden asks you to forget your problems for a little more to worry about what may feel the foreign investor in Guadeloupe and tourists ... It is for your good, fortunately, he will watch!

Submission

In conclusion, I defer to my colleague blogger, Agnès Maillard, who in an article [5] absolutely remarkable, published November 18 and no direct link with Guadeloupe, perfectly summed up a situation that can be generalized:

"Today, most of the political force in which we are stuck is used to convince us of our inability as a citizen unsurpassable and the need to submit to the Law of Contract. Health, work, education, old age, not everything can be thought of as activities that we absolutely must return or else reduced to their simplest expression, because we have to be COM-IT-LS-T-IFS. This is our single project company. And whatever the parties involved, the conflicts of people, structures, this model of society is never, never questioned. The policy became the show place of the bid and the only action allowed is that which allows submission of all to that model. Without further discussion. "

The LKP system gives this issue and that is what irritates Jean Fabre and his ilk. It is also, I think what makes all its interest!

LKP THE STILL HAS A ROLE TO PLAY, TWO YEARS AFTER?

Ultimatum

The event 26 October 2010 at the invitation of the LKP denouncing the non-observance of agreements to end conflict, met at Pointe-à-Pitre from 22 000 participants according to organizers and 6500 according to the prefecture. Back at the Palace of Mutuality and after a brief consultation with organizations of Martinique and Guyana related to this day strike, Elie Domota launched an ultimatum to the chairmen of local authorities and the Prefect, if problems are not resolved to by 14 December, the LKP to call an indefinite general strike.

The general strike of 26 October was held simultaneously in Guadeloupe, Martinique and French Guiana (source: Internet)

Recognition paradoxical roles of elected

While d Some people yell at unacceptable blackmail, one can begin by noting Stretched policies and the prefect, to whom the request LKP take a clear position regarding the commitments made by them and the State in early 2009. This is not trivial to identify because it is often said that the LKP intend to substitute for local politicians. But the fact of turning back to them to recognize their power to resolve problems that take to heart in Guadeloupe and thus implies an implicit recognition of their function. Irulent the tone used by the spokesman of the LKP, supposed to reflect the unwavering determination of the movement, should not overshadow this aspect.

Back to the refusal to participate in elections

On the issue of the report to local officials and extension institutions democratic, many have considered an error that the LKP has not presented the regional elections of March 2010. It is even one of the reasons that prompted the KKE (Communist Party of Guadeloupe) to leave the management structure of the group, accusing its leaders of being unable to "provide valuable guidance to the LKP" [ 1] beyond 44 days. The latter would have proved its inability to transform a social movement into a political force, one option would be able to make a difference.

Analysis a bit faster also explained that if the LKP was not presented as such in regional elections, it was only because of the position of nationalists who would not feel concerned by the elections organized by the French state according to the positions they have held in the past. If this view is still shared by a number of separatists within the LKP, other elements just as decisive, if not more, are here to consider.

a risk of implosion

First, a simple common sense observation requires recognition that the LKP could not afford to establish a program common manifesto, given the diversity of sensitivities that compose it. That in itself is a feat that the 48 organizations Liyannaj have successfully completed the feat to define common goals, putting aside their differences, sometimes strong, and their long-term goals, to focus on those unanimously recognized as beneficial for the greatest number. Return this pact, as inevitably involve a program like electoral certainly lead to the implosion of the collective. Indeed, after 44 days did not always have been easy to manage because such oppositions between reformist and revolutionary organizations [2] within the Liyannaj Pwofitasyon Kont. This chart is usually neglected, eclipsed by the antagonism between separatist and non-independence which generally crystallize analysis.

Event October 26 (photo FG)

Rupture

The emergence of the LKP is no doubt a break with the traditional politics. representative democracy in which we operate based on a pyramid scheme: to caricature, the political professionals supported by their respective units, develop a program that they then propose to the people through an election campaign. The role of citizen in this system is limited generally choose the best (least worst?) option from above and then every three or four years to drop a ballot into a ballot box and then give carte blanche to the lucky winner, who will choose or not, its discretion, to implement the program on the basis of which he was elected. The LKP marks a dramatic break with this approach.

A revolution?

all due respect to those who wanted it either on this position and though at his critics have to say, the objective of the LKP is not the conquest of power (which does not prevent parties that revolve within it do not have to renounce their same). The LKP has revolutionized the way of democratic functioning in the game by introducing a new dimension Guadeloupe policy: civil society. Now consists of 47 organizations, Liyannaj Kont Pwofitasyon shape a broad and representative spectrum. His organizations have established, from the base of the pyramid, notebooks of grievances, to use a net pre-revolutionary, which took the form of the famous platform of 146 points. Today, those forces that arise as a key player between the citizens and elected officials by requiring them to implement practical solutions to the problems faced by the population. The LKP forces the power to rethink his behavior because now he no longer sufficient to obtain the blank check to conduct the polls then policies that would ignore or go against the interests of the population that the elected. The LKP is therefore a break with the practices of segregation policy, which the latter would be the pre-square near-exclusive caste of experts and public affairs professionals. Now, the base means having a say in the decision making process and the guidelines established in his name. This aspiration is perhaps not new but it's rare enough historically that civil society actually provides the means to do so by the stress.

The demonstration on 26 October (photo FG)

Reactions

As I have often the opportunity to say and write is the suspension of the power relations office in March 2009 and not the method used during the 44 days has resulted in significant declines than advances in the power of historical torn struggle. It will just make the LKP, October 26, demonstrating its ability to mobilize and increase the tone by threatening an indefinite strike in a word, he will have enough for the LKP revives the balance of power, for that almost immediately, local officials under a long amnesia, remember the claims made by the population during the 44 days away from issues of States-General, regional elections and the question for them oh so crucial in the number of vacancies within the single assembly. So, here is a large excerpt of the intervention of Victorin Lurel to the National Assembly, delivered November 3, 2011 as part of the budget review Overseas, less than a week after the ultimatum launched by Domota:

"(...) How ignore the tribute paid to the CMA / CGM and ocean carriers, taking a huge tithe to the general indifference and quite opaque? How to accept this unequal treatment in the name of liberal dogma and the omnipotence of the market?

How can we pretend to ignore the toll on our areas of telephony and roaming charges? We are seen as foreign, we are "itinerant French" and we pay a fortune to connect with ours. How then ignore predation imposed by some operators in this sector at a time when France Telecom has accepted the end of the distinction between local and national appeal?

How can we believe that the guardian of the republican state is unable to prevent abuses by banks, insurance companies, credit insurers and other starving that stifle production and prosper hubris consumption?

How to accept at the same time, the external position of these banks and financial institutions is positive and that the savings of our regions is invested primarily in Montreal, in silence, in the 'total anonymity, without flinching, but on the other hand, we take a scrupulous accounting of tax benefits and tax expenditures granted tolerated, with yearly shots of plane, incidentally, stigmatize our people and, after all, we despise? (...)

how when large groups of trade and import / distribution sovereignly decide the level of our purchasing power and that even after the great social raptus 44 days in 2009 in Guadeloupe and 38 days in Martinique, the State is unable to fight effectively against high prices and makes one feel this angry feeling that the system is not reformed and that essentializes himself, puts it in stone for eternity?

We obtained that the state can intervene to regulate prices and halt the scandal of profitation oil. Why do you continue to pay this so-called "shortfall" of oil through a check of 176 million to date?

How in these circumstances, to believe, given the inertia and the helplessness, the young generations that the policy controls the "commanding heights of the economy" and that is made to control the future and decide the fate? (...) [3] "

Urgency

This is a courageous and committed speech , although one can also think of Victorin Lurel. This shows precisely that it may be time to stop waiting for the right man to conquer power. The LKP demonstrates that beyond the person in power, condition of being united and determined, we can begin to change things and it requires work to radically change the nature of relations between rulers and ruled.

Event 26 November (photo FG)

It is essential to redefine these reports if the database will have a chance to be heard in high places, so that the word " democracy ", whose etymology, as we know, literally means " Power to the People "continues to be overused. This is certainly A central contribution of the LKP in the dawn of the twenty-first century emerging.

[2] Contrary to the idea received on the issue, the difference which is based on the contrast between reformist and revolutionary is not a question of remedy or not the army way. The Reform believes that the system can be improved, while the revolutionary view that the nature of the system itself is inherently bad or has become, and should therefore be changed.

THE PCG DONE HIS REVOLUTION

The PCG slams the door LKP

few weeks just before the crucial mobilization of 26 October, the Communist Party of Guadeloupe has opted out of the LKP, which since then has not more than 47 organizations. The PCG has nevertheless continued to maintain to the end of the term general strike of 26 and was present that day in the event of Pointe-à-Pitre. In its statement the Central Committee [1] published November 3, we note two main reasons, set forth to justify this departure.

"The nationalist-syndicalist [which] sterilize the debate"

While presenting the finding of " the state of bankruptcy that characterizes TODAY 'Today the Guadeloupe "and criticizing the proponents of assimilationism [2] , Victorin Lurel in mind, the PC brands some" nationalist-syndicalist , using a balance of power today for them, [and] the LKP sterilize, organize the disappointment, which returns the masses under the protection of conservatives . ... " Even if they are not mentioned, we of course think of the leaders Mouvman nonme. However, far from being affected by the departure of the PCG, they see the contrary, with the departure of the PCG, strengthened their position within the collective. While it is normal and even desirable to denounce what is wrong within the LKP, one might ask whether the policy of the empty chair is not likely to be, in this case, totally counterproductive.

The anti-colonial struggle

The other criticism that the GHL formula to LKP is not having established political force would be loud and the issue of statutory evolution. The Communist Party now arises as well as the herald of this struggle and calls for a large gathering of forces that are truly anti-colonialist. He criticized on this point very strongly, the leaders of LKP: " (...) they proved incapable of giving valuable guidance to the LKP, before making their touch to the disillusionment of the masses by appearing in an uncoordinated regional elections, despite all the efforts of the Communist Party of Guadeloupe to present a common list "and speaks of "fog political horizon mouth."

A new front?

The PCG known to hold "anti-colonialist forces foundation and patriotic." From a very pragmatic view, one may wonder how this initiative can have a chance of succeeding. While some organizations like the ICAPP Alain Fun, but is still embryonic and personalities like Eric Jalton, which are clearly stated at the last regional elections in favor of this development office, could be tempted to join PCG in this adventure, but obviously this could be very insufficient to adequately weigh the statutory issue. For organizations independence, as yet UPLG combined with PCG and Jalton during the election campaign, he is unlikely to leave a LKP who sees their strengthened position within it, if need be. One might fear that the PCG does not have the necessary potential in terms of electoral base to drive an ambitious change.

A minefield

You tell me that this is not because we are a minority at one point that we are condemned to remain so. In fact the PCG is considering a number of actions as " an information campaign, debate, under the" bik has pawol, with Guadeloupe "or
" a work of popular education and awareness, reactivating their study center as a social and political space of citizenship training and accountability, open to all Guadeloupeans He also announced that " efforts will be made to bring the work in the field of communication in the requirements of the fight against all the mechanisms of alienation and manipulation of the masses . But the land on which intends to engage the PCG is undermined. If the demonstration on October 26 was attended by over 10,000 people in Guadeloupe, it failed to mobilize in Martinique over 2000 people. This result is partly due to the slap that was received by the organizations within the group of 5 February which had bet on "yes" in the referendum for statutory changes, January 10, 2010. That day, the Martinique should answer "yes" or "no" to the question: "Do you approve the transformation of Martinique in a community overseas governed by Article 74 of the Constitution , with a particular organization considering its own interests in the Republic? ". The results were a repudiation cooking for supporters évoluton: 79%, Martinique had expressed their rejection to the proposal. Although this result was primarily a reflection of the mistrust experienced by West Indians vis-à-vis their political class, it is clear that the proposed changes, presented as an end in itself would be able to favorably change the situation of the population, has not satisfied far from it.

project

A similar evolution seems possible in Guadeloupe that if the population is very closely associated with the development of an alternative vision of society, and she takes of herself that indeed it is necessary to change the status of the archipelago to reach the goal concrete it was fixed. The statutory evolution is not then an end in itself but a mere tool to serve a group project. As such, thinking that launches the PCG is far from being uninteresting:

" The Guadeloupe should opt for a model endogenous development of diverse mixed type, according to the principle of planned development. This means that the development will be conducted through plans developed by a power Guadeloupe, with the participation of all stakeholders (government, employers, workers, research centers ...). The objectives are primarily the creation of jobs and wealth, social progress.

Endogenous development naturally involves finding a new way of life, breaking with the company overconsumption, waste, "all motor" and any import. It is a lifestyle endogenous closer to nature, emphasizing quality of life in living standards, integration in the Caribbean, on the basis of complementarity, reciprocity and solidarity exchanges .

This model of development and society can be understood if Guadeloupe is free to make political choices and has the mastery of skills that underpin good governance: taxation, education and price controls, customs policy, immigration, foreign trade. "

Towards a post-capitalist society? Strength and weakness.

It is quite far from the thought of Karl Marx found by cons very clearly in these lines, the influence of the manifest of the 9 Martinique intellectuals for a post- capitalist [3] , a text absolutely remarkable poetry and posed with the question of the future relevance of Guadeloupe and Martinique. Thinking this fate and try to give a political expression on the electoral chessboard deserves our attention, nevertheless, the Felix PCG Flemin does it not the cart before the horse already opting for a Change statutory model, prior to deepen and consolidate his vision of the endogenous development of Guadeloupe, especially before winning the population's view about the project that requires a statutory change? This is undoubtedly lies the weakness of the approach ...

Frederick Gircour (chien.creole @ gmail.com)

[2] "My goal is to show, through intimate relations with the masters of power, that we are like other French, that France looks after its "distant children." New expressions have crept into the debate: France's diversity, the French ultra-marine, the outermost regions, marriage visible flag French and European. Everything is done to force us to think the French and Europeans. This offensive
assimilationist is reflected in the claim to maintain in Guadeloupe status quo and the French law, formulated by Victorin Lurel, and that states, in violation of all its "republican principles" that voters in Guadeloupe, in choosing its list of regional elections of March 2010 voted for the final and irreversible assimilation e in France that he embodies. How To Build Long Travel Sand Car

Prison records from the prison register

Always transmitted by the indispensable "mahousse beast", here are two documents relating to prison for parole made by Victor, who tell us about the length of sentence already served, and especially about his reasons .

First, an individual Record (pages 1 and 2 are identical, but I can not delete this folder):

And then a Bulletin of moral statistics :

Where certainty is taking shape: Victor was sentenced in 1948 to three years in prison, two years for "fraud by false police" and one year for "acts likely to harm the national defense" - which must refer to his activities during the Occupation.
By comparing the patterns of two convictions and the duration of sentencing, it is clear that the accusations peddled by Eric Pierre Drachline Losfeld then and later by Alfred Eibel under the libel, pure and simple.

Victor was jailed June 16, 1947 and released on March 2, 1950.
